3-Ingredient Gluten-Free Cheesy Bread
We can't think of a better appetizer than Gluten Free Cheesy Bread. Imagine creating a gooey cheese pull you've seen at restaurants in your very own kitchen.
This recipe starts with a soft gluten-free sourdough bread - key to making the best cheese bread! We generously top the bread with cheese and our favorite nightshade-free veggie pasta sauce. This recipe can be made in the oven or air fryer, only takes 3 ingredients and about 20 minutes from start to finish.

Start With a Good Gluten-Free Bread
A pillowy, light gluten-free bread makes this Gluten-Free Cheese Bread recipe all the better. We're using the Gluten-Free Gum-Free, Rice-Free Sourdough Loaf from Bread SRSLY. This loaf doesn't come pre-sliced, so you can slice it to the right thickness needed for a fluffy cheese bread.
We recommned cutting the bread into 3/4 inch-1 inch pieces, then cut each slice into four individual pieces.
This gluten-free bread is super soft and made with minimal ingredients - no gums, no gluten, no added sugars, and no rice. Its easy to digest and creates a beautiful crusty exterior when in the oven.
Use a Low-Moisture Mozzarella
A low-moisture mozzarella, like those that come pre-shredded or in blocks (rather than in balls) are what you should be looking for for this recipe, or else the bread would become liquidy. (Pssst: shredding yourself from a block is way better than pre-shredded!)
Incorporate Veggies With This Veggie Marinara
If you're allergic to nightshades, the Daylight Veggie Pasta Sauce is for you. This pasta sauce uses a blend of eight vegetables and no tomatoes. Similar to our Bread SRSLY bread, this sauce is without refined sugars or seed oils!
Alterations To This Recipe
Garlickly Cheesy Bread
If you want to make Garlickly Cheesy Bread (garlic bread plus melty cheese) brush your bread with melted butter and minced garlic first before adding the other toppings.
Dairy-Free Cheesy Bread
This Gluten-Free Cheesy Bread recipe can easily be made using a dairy-free cheese alternative. Instead of using 4 oz mozzarella, use 4 oz of our favorite shredded Daiya Mozzarella or Violife Mozzarella.
Total time: About 20 minutes (mostly idle time for toasting)

INGREDIENTS
- ½ jar Daylight Pasta Sauce (or your favorite pasta sauce)
- 4 thick slices Bread SRSLY Gum-Free, Rice-Free Sourdough Pullman Loaf
- 4 oz fresh or shredded mozzarella cheese (can swap for dairy free)
- Optional: Fresh herbs (like basil or thyme), for garnish
DIRECTIONS
- Start by preheating your oven or air fryer to 400°. Prep your breadsticks by cutting each bread slice into four strips to make the sticks (you can cut more strips out of each slice if you want thinner, crunchier sticks). Make sure to use a sharp, non-serrated knife.
- Place your breadsticks on a baking tray and bake for 5-10 minutes until toasted. Remove from oven once toasted, but do not take the breadsticks off the tray since you will put them back in the oven with the toppings.
- Using a spoon, carefully dollop the pasta sauce onto your breadsticks and then top with your cheese. Put the breadsticks back in the oven for about 5 minutes or until the cheese is melted.
- Before serving, top with fresh chopped herbs (if using) and enjoy!
