Gluten-Free Peach & Basil Grilled Cheese (Dairy-Free Option)

Grilled cheese is a classic that can’t be beat, but what if you add fresh peach and basil from the Farmer’s Market? You get the ultimate Summer grilled cheese! These ingredients pair exceptionally well with our Classic Sourdough.

Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free Option

Prep Time: 5 minutes, Cook Time: 8-10 minutes 

Makes: 1 sandwich/serving

 

INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp butter (or vegan butter)

2 slices Classic Gluten-Free Sourdough

3 or 4 slices raw cheddar (or dairy-free cheddar)

A quarter of one fresh peach, thinly sliced

3 or 4 fresh basil leaves, julienned

 

DIRECTIONS

  1. Heat a small pan over medium low heat and add the butter. Once melted, add both pieces of sourdough. Toast the sourdough in the pan for 2 minutes or until barely golden.

  2. Layer the slices of cheese on one slice of bread followed by the basil and the peach slices. Place the other piece of bread on top, butter side up.

  3. Once the bottom slice is golden brown, carefully flip the sandwich (this should take about 2 minutes).

  4. Cook for another 2 minutes until golden on both sides and the cheese is melted. If it starts to burn, turn the heat down and add a bit more butter!

  5. Enjoy!
