Sourdough Pizza Toast is a great dinner option for the family because its quick to make, you can load up on nutritious toppings like proteins and vegetables, and kids love it. We like to use mozzarella, parmesan, or a dairy-free cheese. Add veggies like green peppers, mushrooms, spinach, or olives, and proteins like shredded chicken, sausage, or deli meat. Instead of using a store-bough pizza sauce, you can make your own by doctoring up a canned tomato sauce with basil, oregano, garlic, and a pinch of sugar.
Choosing a Sourdough
If you're making pizza toast, sourdough is a great bread option. Its more hearty and flavorful than other breads. Plus, it uses fermentation which creates beneficial bacteria and increases the bioavailability of nutrients.
We're using Bread SRLY's gluten-free and vegan sourdough pullman loaf. This loaf isn't pre-sliced, so you can more easily bake in the oven and then slice into triangular pizza shapes. Enjoy a bread thats easier to digest and made from wholesome, fiber-rich ingredients with Bread SRSLY!
