Pumpkin Tartine W/ Maple Butter & Pumpkin Cream Cheese
These pumpkin toasts are the perfect autumn treat using my favorite loaf of all time; Gluten-Free Pumpkin Spice Sourdough. Slather this bread in two delicious toppings - Cardamom Maple Butter and Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese - plus some fresh figs. These are SO easy to whip up, but so delicious.
We also call these toasts tartines, a French open-style sandwich typically made with sourdough and thoughtful, fun toppings. Common French tartines are quite simple and usually topped with just two or three ingredients, one typically being a spread, others being cheeses, fruits, and meats. We are making our tartines with a gluten-free pumpkin sourdough, easy Cardamom Maple Butter or Pumpkin Cream Cheese, and sliced figs. That's all!
Both of these spreads are incredibly easy to make. We're using a real butter and cream cheese, but feel free to use your favorite dairy-free version!
Serve these pumpkin toasts (or tartines) at your next holiday party as an appetizer, for breakfast, or as your after-dinner sweet cap! Kids will love these spreads too, as well as this gluten-free sourdough from Bread SRSLY. Try out this recipe for yourself!

Pumpkin Spice Cream Cheese

- 1 ½ Tbsp maple syrup

DIRECTIONS
-
Get out two separate bowls. In one, combine the maple butter ingredients and stir with a fork until fluffy and combined. In another, combine the cream cheese ingredients and mix together.
-
Slice your loaf using a non-serrated knife and toast the slices until crispy. Let cool for at least 4 minutes so the toppings don’t melt.
-
Slather half the slices in butter and half in cream cheese. Top with figs and enjoy! Store leftover cream cheese in the fridge, and the butter in a tupperware at room temp.
